Former OFA Youth Vote Guru to Lead Grassroots Efforts Encouraging Hillary to Run
ALEXANDRIA, VA – Today, the national grassroots organization Ready for Hillary announced Rachel Schneider has joined the organization as Young Americans Director and Regional Director. Schneider, the first constituency director to be hired by Ready for Hillary, will be responsible for organizing young Americans across the country in efforts to encourage Hillary to run for president in 2016. She addressed delegates at the Young Democrats of America (YDA) convention over the weekend and spoke at the College Democrats of America convention the week before.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Ready for Hillary as Young Americans Director and Regional Director. Young people all across the country are ready to organize, to engage their friends and classmates, and to build this grassroots movement in order to encourage Hillary to run for president. The level of involvement we saw in 2008 and 2012 wasn’t an anomaly. Young people care about the issues and who is leading this country. They will stand behind Hillary, on their campuses, in their communities, and at the polls, should she decide to run in 2016.”
Schneider is a native of Montgomery, Ohio and a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in journalism. Prior to her work at Ready for Hillary, she served as Associate Director of Youth Outreach on the Presidential Inaugural Committee and as Obama for America’s National Youth Vote Coordinator.
Marlon Marshall, a founding partner at 270 Strategies and 2012 Obama for America Deputy National Field Director, said, “When it comes to mobilizing young Americans, no one is more passionate or more knowledgeable than Rachel Schneider. Rachel will do what she did so well on President Obama’s campaign – organize a massive national grassroots movement of young Americans. She will be an incredible asset to the Ready for Hillary team.”
